With the fall game rush nearly upon us and next-gen consoles around the corner, there’s a good chance you have at least a few games on your radar. If you prefer to purchase your games digitally, Best Buy has a solid one-day deal on gift cards for Xbox and Nintendo Switch. As part of its current batch of Deals of the Day, Best Buy is offering 10% off on eShop and Xbox gift cards.
We’ve seen this deal on Xbox gift cards at other retailers like Newegg recently, but it’s rare to see discounts on eShop gift cards. Switch eShop gift cards are available to purchase in a bunch of increments–$10, $20, $50, $99, etc.–so you can mix and match to get however much credit you want. The more you buy, the more you save. You could purchase $120 worth of eShop credit for $108, which would mean that your next pair of $60 Switch games will be 10% off. You can even use eShop credit to renew your Nintendo Switch Online membership ($20 per year).

Xbox Store gift cards are available in the following denominations: $10, $15, $20, $25, $30, $50, and $100. Xbox Store credit can be used on Xbox One games as well as Xbox Series X titles. You could also purchase enough credit to preorder an Xbox Series X or Series S and save 10% on your brand-new console directly through the Microsoft Store. And it’s not a bad idea to add some credit to your account to purchase next-gen titles this holiday. You can also use Xbox Store credit to subscribe to Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass Ultimate.
If you don’t already have a Best Buy account, you’ll have to sign up for one to make your purchase. After buying, a digital code will be sent to your email within one hour. You’re essentially getting free money here, and you’ll wind up saving even more when buying games during digital game sales at the Xbox Store and eShop.
