A brief teaser trailer this week for Destiny 2‘s Beyond Light expansion hinted at secrets and new Exotic weapons lurking beneath the ice of Europa. Developer Bungie has expanded on that sneak peek with a full trailer detailing the upcoming expansion’s arsenal of weapons and armor.
Some of the revealed Exotic weapons and gear come equipped with perks that favor the new Stasis subclass that players will be able to access when they start the Beyond Light campaign. Weapons like Salvation’s Grip create additional Stasis crystals that can freeze enemies and the new version of No Time To Explain can refill its ammo reserves if Stasis-effected enemies are attacked with it.
Bungie provided a deeper explanation of the gear as well, which you can read below:
Destiny 2: Beyond Light Exotic Weapons
No Time To Explain
Precision hits and hits against enemies affected by Stasis will return to the magazine. Stack this effect to summon a portal which will fire bullets from an alternate timeline of the weapon.
Precision final blows will generate lightning bolts at the target location. Rapid precision shots will summon an entire storm at the point of impact.
A mortal blade, a stalwart shield. Block with The Lament to rev the blade, then shred through shielded enemies. At its peak, damaging an enemy will heal the wielder.
Each fired projectile will create Stasis crystals that will freeze nearby targets. Charge to increase the amount of crystals created and the freeze radius.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light Exotic Armor
Reinforced armor that replaces the Titan’s Barricade with Overshield, absorbing damage from incoming fire.
Upon revival, the Titan gains an Overshield aura that protects the wearer and nearby allies.
Mask of Bakris
Don the Mask to replace the Hunter’s Dodge ability with a longer range Shift ability that also temporarily cloaks the wearer during use.
The Hunter’s weighted knife gains a second ricochet; rapid precision hits gain a damage bonus and can temporarily stagger enemies.
The Warlock’s Daybreak projectiles deal extra damage and cause enemies to burn on contact. Gain melee energy each time a burn damages a target.
Melee attacks corrupt enemies with increasing damage over time. Defeating a corrupted combatant spreads the corruption to nearby targets and restores melee energy.
If you’re looking to tie up any loose ends and earn the Forerunner title, you only have a few weeks left in the Season of Arrivals to do so. The current evacuation storyline is drawing to a close, and the October 6 weekly reset has added the annual Festival of the Lost event to Destiny 2’s sandbox.
When the spooky celebration wraps up, it’ll be only a few days until the Beyond Light expansion is added to Destiny 2 ahead of a dramatic reduction size that will require players to redownload it.
